domestic immunity

 "The concept behind my personal project called „Domestic Immunity“ is the function of the domestic environment at night. Whilst most people are living there lifes outside of their houses in the daytime, spending their time with working, shopping, et cetera; the majority of the world is at home in the nighttime. On my opinion, it is more important to have a domicile at night than having one in the daytime. The reason for that is the fact, that you are usually safe, comfortable and immune while sitting on the couch with your family or sleeping in your bed. I had the idea for this project while thinking about the definition for the word domesticity.

         “The quality of being domestic or domesticated“

I started to think about the question “What makes homeless people homeless?“. Just because a person spends the whole day walking around in the city doesn‘t make him homeless, it is the fact that he sleeps in the park, under the bridge or on benches, being in an unsecure environment. This is why I think that the main-function of a domicile is the protective and comfortable aspect at night."
